4th of July ...Fair St. Louis

My cousin's daughter, Kortney, stayed with us over the holiday and we had a blast. We went to Fair St. Louis where it was HOT..HOT..HOT. We rode the Metro Link, which is always a treat for the kids and saw the Air Show. Steven's favorite is always the Harrier, which of course they save till the very end otherwise no one would stick around. Then we went home...SLEPT the heat away. The temperature that day was 103 or 104. Then we watched the neighborhood displays and had fun just being....
The night before we watch the Alton, IL fireworks display out over the Mississippi River and it was beautiful. I was definitely impressed and will go back next year.

A Weekend with Aunt Jen Jen

Wow these kids are blessed. They have an Aunt who loves then so much. My sister Jennifer (featured in the red shirt) borrowed my kids for a weekend of madness. She took them to Lego Land and they had a blast. The saw as 4D movie where at the end got sneezed on by a dragon "aka water spray" and both said in unison "Aunt Jen Jen, that freaked me out". They rode rides and of course SHOPPED..They both bought more Lego Star Wars characters that I will most likely vacuum up later. THEN, My very cool sister took Zachary and Christopher to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant where you place your order over the phone and then this little train brings your meal to you. My boys loved that because they love trains as much as LEGOs. Once she was completely exhausted she then dropped them off with Nana and Papa so they could spoil them some more. With Nana and Papa, Chris and Zach saw Brave and like it very much. My sweet hearted TEENager actually got teary eyed. All in all a great time ....maybe next time I will send her all three of the kids instead of two.

Grant's Farm

We took the kids to Grant's Farm on a very steamy Sunday morning and had a fantastic time. All the kids fed the goats or at least attempted too. Zach was obviously the most successful and Chris actually went in the feeding area..with a bottle..BUT then a very eager baby goat jumped on him nearly knocking him down causing him to lose his mind. Daddy had to carry Leah because she said "No..daddy" right from the start. We then took a tour of Grant's farm and saw some pretty amazing animals. My favorites were the HUGE turtles and the Bald Eagle. The turtles are hundreds of years old. I want to know their secret. Lastly, the kids took a ride on the carousel and Leah DID NOT want to get off. She showed her age..a whopping two...by gripping the post and shedding a few tears. Can't wait to go again!
Tuckered out

Totally wore out...Zach is playing his DS in the back. He has not napped since he was Leah's age

Wow..this kid is growing up so fast!

Spring Break Visit to New Mexico

In March we took the kids to New Mexico for spring break. We drove down in a minivan and I have to say that over all it went well. The minivan we rented was a 2011 and I have already informed my husband that I HAVE to have one. The first day we only drove about 5 hrs and stayed in a nice hotel in Wichita and let the kids play and relax. The whole reason we stopped was so for the indoor pool which happened to be closed...conveniently. Then we spend the next day...ALL day driving to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They were very happy to see the grand kids. We had a great time visiting the Puye Cliff dwellings and shopping in Santa Fe. My favorite place to go is Jackalobe which has everything neat on earth. I love it. And of course my father-n-law made my favorite...Indian tacos. We had a great time visiting and cannot wait to go back in a few months.
Uncle Phillip and Daddy enjoy visiting while holding the babies.

This is what Chris and Zacdh looked like at the end of each day..:)

We took the kids to see ancient Pueblo Cliff dwellings. It is still sacred ground and it was amazing to see and touch the places where my husband and his family's ancestors lived.

Chris was good the entire time. The only fits he threw was when we made him come in from playing outside at the end of the day.

Grandpa gave Chris one of his train hats and was showing him how to adjust it
